On 30th May 2021, the birth centenary of the founder-chief editor of the "Parvatiya' newspaper and founder of the B.D. Uniyal (Parvatiya) Charitable Trust, Sh. Bishnu Dutt Uniyal (which coincides with the Hindi Journalism day), the Atal journalism and mass communication department of Kumaon University situated at Nainital organized a commemorative program along with a discussion on the subject "Journalism in times of Covid-19" in the virtual format.

Many eminent personalities paid their tribute to Sh. Uniyal, highlighting his contribution to Hindi Journalism and regional development. The speakers also gave their insightful views on the theme being discussed.

The event was attended by the Hon'ble Governor of Maharashtra, Sh. Bhagat Singh Koshyari, Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Sh. Tirath Singh Rawat, and the Vice Chancellor of the Kumaon University, Prof. N.K. Joshi.

Chairperson of the Trust, Dr. Seema Uniyal Mishra addressed the gathering. She laid emphasis on the neutral policies adopted by 'Parvatiya', and the views of Sh. Uniyal on society, the individual, and the relationship between them.
